MESSAGES
Cardinal Julio R. Rosales, D.D. "Devotion of the Holy Child or to the Santo Nino has always been a strong characteristic of the Cebuano people as well as of the Filipinos in general. This was proven during the 4th centennial celebration when the whole Filipino populace joined hands and hearts at the solemn coronation of the Santo Nino de Cebu on April 28, 1965.
I am glad that in such a far away country where you are the flame of your love for the Holy Child still burns brighter than ever. This is one sure sign that your Christian faith is one that is alive and fervent. May you keep it ever burning until eternity. Hence, while we honor and adore the Holy Child Jesus , in the Image of the Santo Nino de Cebu, let us ever keep in mind that He stands for the spirit of simplicity and humility as a condition to enter God's kingdom and for the love and good upbringing of children who will be the men and leaders of tomorrow."

St. Joseph's Church houses the Image of the Miraculous Santo Nino de Cebu making it one of San Francisco's most historical, cultural and religious shrines and worthy of placement in the National Register. I urge the acknowledgement of this important landmark for the benefit of both present and future generations who will appreciate it's cultural, aesthetic and architectural contributions."
